Temple More Qualified

Incumbant Mayor Cheryl Temple has better skills, knowledge, and experience than her opponent. It would have been nice to have more choices in the upcoming election and it is a disappointment to see all the unopposed races

Cheryl or Kim are our choices? Really!?! I’m serious…really? :-(

Let me ask you Orting News… Can a city declare a no confidence vote in an election? I know a lot of people vent without purpose, but I’m serious when I say I care about the place I live but am not eligible to run for a position. Temple has proven to be what she was in her private life…a talking head for others, not a representative. Farnes, for all her community involvement, is by no means a leader. She’s trying to sell her restaurant and keep that quiet, and her hair-brained promotions are ill-conceived and -pardon the pun – smaller than this small town.

I read where Bainbridge Island (http://www.kitsapsun.com/news/2009/may/22/on-soon-to-be-mayorless-bainbridge-island-focus/) discontinued the position of Mayor, opting for a council-elected City Manager. Novel idea…hire somebody who can run a city and not simply alter transportation routes so their home is not bothered by the traffic of commerce.

I would love to hear feedback from the community as my views are obviously a bit jaded. I would also want to state I have no bone to pick with either candidate, and they should both be applauded for tossing their hats, er, hair nets into the ring. Although, Orting’s regional stock has plummeted in the past couple of years and personally I’d like to see a real leader – elected or otherwise – take the role and would like to know if there are options beyond what has been presented to us over the weekend on Orting News.

Great alternative concept. It would help the city budget also. Perhaps Mark Bethune’s could change from City Administrator to City Manager as elected by the council. I think he has served under 3 mayors now: Jones, Colorrosi and Temple.

    Temple is obviously more qualified.

I’m sure Ms Farnes is a likeable lady.

For those who complain and think they can do a better job, how ’bout you run for office next time? Why not?

This is a small town that has lasted for well over 100 years. It is going through tremendous growing pains – most of which were induced by previous mayors, not the current one.

It is time for change in Orting. Some one with new ideas and the desire for a better future. Kim is very qualifed as a leader. And the statement in the above post about tossing their hair nets into the ring, how sexist, and at least she has ideas.

Temple is out of here… I am voting for Kim and I have no idea who she is… Anyone but Temple… We need change and we need it fast.. I hope Kim comes in with some new ideas and brings a much needed change in office. I love this little town and hope we have someone who can lead us into the future.

After today why would you want to vote for Cheryl???! For her to turn her back on our firefighters who spend tireless hours taking care of our community is unbelievable. Cheryl is so caught up in her personal gain and politics that she has not had time to open her eyes to see the real problems. Does she really think all facts (not allegations) aren’t true? So the fire commisioners made everything up. The written statements are not there. Cheryl went on public television and made our fire department look like a joke. She is the joke. Making uneducated decisions is about all she is good for. We need someone who can make a decision for the entire community. Oh by the way the statement of Mark Bethune becoming City manager….please no. I would like to see someone qualified get that position.
